Habitat for Humanity of Sarpy County is a
locally run affiliate of Habitat for
Humanity International, a nonprofit,
ecumenical Christian housing organization.
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership
with people in need to build and renovate
decent, affordable housing. The houses then
are sold to those in need at no profit and
with no interest charged.
|
|
Because the Sarpy Habitat receives no government funding, it relies on
donations of labor, cash, materials and
services to build homes for
economically disadvantaged
families. Faith based communities,
businesses, organizations, foundations and
individuals provide the funding necessary to
build houses. An estimated
fifteen hundred volunteer
hours
provide the labor. Partner
families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" -
into building
their homes
and the homes of others. Their
mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to
build more houses. For information on becoming a
family partner, call us at 292-6560.

We are currently accepting
applications. Applicants must meet the
Application Guidelines
& are required to fill out the
Pre-screening
