||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Dear Friend,
1. Your family’s actual housing need
based on the suitability of your current shelter. E.g., home has damage
that is un-repairable, has inadequate or dangerous heating system,
inferior plumbing or electrical, safety issues, handicap accessibility
issues, inadequate size for family, cost of housing is too high based on
monthly income.
2.
Your current income and ability to
pay for a Habitat House.
3. Your willingness to participate as a “homeowner partner” with Habitat. · Eagerness to participate in the program · Understanding of what the program is and how it works · Realization of the demands of the program (sweat equity requirement)
All the above will be explained at the
orientation. If you have an interest in becoming a
“homeowner partner” with Habitat for Humanity of Sarpy County and you
feel you may qualify:
1. Please
complete the 'Application for Homeownership' form from the following
link (Form not available until January, 2009). Bring this completed form
with you to the orientation meeting (date and time to be announced). 2. YOU MUST Attend the orientation meeting on:
Date to be announced late December Location: Bellevue Public Library 1003 Lincoln Road Bellevue, NE 68005 Out of respect for other attendees and a limited amount of space, we request that children do not attend the meeting. Orientation meeting times have been chosen to help accommodate your need to find child care and work around your employment schedule. 3. YOU MUST bring with you: · Your completed Habitat for Humanity of Sarpy County Application for Homeownership form (help will be provided at the orientation to complete form if needed) · Picture identification such as, drivers license or military ID · Proof of income for all working members of the family such as, pay stub or income tax return
4. YOU MUST have $15.00 application fee (this will only be taken if your application is initially accepted at the orientation evening). If your application is accepted this fee will be used to obtain a credit report and is not refundable. Applications will automatically be denied on the night of orientation if your income does not meet the guidelines or you do not bring any or all of the above documents/fee requested. If you do not qualify on the night of orientation, you may reapply during other application periods which will be approximately every twelve months. All information provided will be treated confidentially in its use for family selection. Because we are a volunteer organization, selection does not guarantee that you will receive a home. However, we will make every effort to build homes with those who are selected to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Sarpy County. For more information, please contact the Habitat for Humanity of Sarpy County, Nebraska office at 292-6560 or come by the office, 119 West Mission Ave. |
