27 March 2006 - Steven Evans, son of Sarpy Habitat homeowner Tara Evans, won a gold medal in all-around basketball skills on March 24th at the Special Olympics State competition in Lincoln.  

Steven will also be competing at the state-level in Special Olympics in bowling, because he placed 1st in the 12 to 15 year old category at the Regional Special Olympics Bowling Tournament held at Leopard Lanes on Jan. 21.  Steven is a member of the Bellevue Stars bowling team. Steven is a freshman at Bellevue East High School.


A Sarpy Habitat family has a member heading to the State Competition of Special Olympics!

Steven Evans, placed 1st in the 12 to 15-year-old category at the Regional Special Olympics Bowling Tournament. The tournament was held Jan. 21 at Leopard Lanes in Bellevue.
 
More than 300 bowlers competed in the tournament. Bowlers who place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd will move on to compete in the state competition to be held in May of this year.

Steven is a member of the Bellevue Stars Bowling team, and a freshman at Bellevue East High School.

On 21 Feb, Steven & his teammates took 1st Place in the regional basketball tournament for the Special Olympics!! As a result, his team qualifies for the state tournament in basketball.
